Part 2: The Prophecy and the Sealed Scroll - Secrets of the Last Pope’s Final Warning

As global curiosity intensifies following the death of Pope Francis, new revelations are beginning to surface regarding a centuries-old prophecy and a hidden scroll beneath the Vatican’s most sacred grounds suggesting that Francis may indeed have been the last pope, as foretold in the Prophecy of the Popes.

According to exclusive sources who spoke to Dobblog, an ancient parchment believed to have been written centuries ago was uncovered beneath the altar of St. Peter’s Basilica during routine renovations last year. This newly discovered document, which some claim is linked to St. Malachy, the 12th-century Irish archbishop who authored the famous prophecy, appears to describe a figure remarkably similar to Pope Francis, hinting at the “end times” of the papacy.

The Prophecy of the Popes consists of a series of cryptic descriptions of each pope from Celestine II to a final pontiff referred to as “Peter the Roman,” whose reign would conclude with the destruction of the Vatican and the end of the Roman Catholic Church as we know it. This prophecy, though not officially recognized by the Church, has fascinated believers and skeptics alike for centuries.

A Vatican historian, who was among the first to examine the newly uncovered scroll, has suggested a startling connection between Pope Francis and the final prophecy’s cryptic line: “In the shadow of the world, the last shepherd will lead.”

While the scroll itself has not been made public, this phrase stands out to many who have studied the prophecy for years. “The shadow of the world” could refer to the growing influence of secular powers over the Church, or the deepening crisis of faith, which Pope Francis often addressed,” said Dr. Antonella Ricci, an expert on Catholic history and prophecy. “What is most chilling is that ‘the last shepherd’ could imply a period of spiritual desolation after Francis, a leader who challenged the very structures of power within the Vatican.”

Those who have read the scroll describe it as part theological essay, part dark prophecy. The text is said to contain chilling passages about the rise of an “unknown influence” within the Church something that could replace the papacy entirely. This revelation has set off a wave of speculation about what the future of the Vatican holds: will it continue as an institution, or could we be seeing the unraveling of a 2,000-year-old tradition?

Though the Vatican has remained silent on the matter, one senior cardinal, speaking under the condition of anonymity, hinted that the scroll may hold answers to “questions that go beyond the Church.”

With the College of Cardinals now poised to convene, some insiders suggest that Pope Francis’ final message, combined with the re-emergence of the Prophecy of the Popes, could disrupt the normal course of succession. “There’s fear that the Church is being led into uncharted waters,” said Cardinal Enrico di Monti, an influential figure within the Vatican. “We are not just selecting a pope we are choosing the future of an institution that may soon face its final days.”

While some cardinals advocate for continuity, pushing for the election of a new pope who will carry on Francis’ legacy, others are questioning whether it’s time for the papacy to evolve or to end altogether.

As the world waits for the next steps, the question of whether Pope Francis truly was the last pope continues to stir debate. Is the Church on the brink of a transformation it cannot control, or will the Vatican find a way to continue as it has for centuries?
