Ondo Police Deny Kidnapping Claims

 

Local authorities in Ondo State have firmly denied recent reports that suggested a kidnapping incident in the area.  In an official statement released early today, the Ondo State Police Command clarified that there has been no verified case of abduction, attributing the circulating information to misinformation and unverified social media posts.

 The claims of a kidnapping were thoroughly investigated, according to the police spokesperson, and there is no evidence to back up the claims made in the reports. “Our team has conducted a comprehensive inquiry into the matter, and we can confirm that there was no incident of kidnapping.  It is important for the public to rely on verified information from official channels,” the spokesperson stated.

 Reaction from the Public and Trust from the Community The spread of such alarming information has undoubtedly heightened the community's level of anxiety, as expressed by locals. Law enforcement officials have called on the public to be cautious and to verify information through trusted news outlets and direct police communications.

 The police stressed that disseminating untrue information can cause unnecessary panic and disrupt community harmony. They urged citizens to report any suspicious activities directly to the police and to refrain from sharing unsubstantiated rumors on social media.
