Nigeria Launches First AI-Powered News Anchor

In a historic development for African media, Nigeria has launched its first AI-powered news anchor, “NINA” (Nigeria’s Intelligent News Assistant). Developed by a consortium of local tech firms, NINA delivers news broadcasts in multiple languages, including English, Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa.

NINA made her debut on national television last night, presenting news segments with human-like expressions and voice modulation. Viewers were captivated by her seamless delivery and cultural fluency.

Dr. Ifeanyi Okonkwo, lead developer of the project, remarked, “NINA represents the fusion of technology and culture. She’s designed to make news more accessible and engaging for all Nigerians.”
