One of the most talked about celebrity feuds of recent years has emerged from the simmering tension between hip hop powerhouses Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj.
When they worked together on Hot Girl Summer in 2019, what appeared to be a strong partnership has turned into a public war of words, subliminal shots, and direct diss tracks that have captivated fans and dominated global headlines.
Megan's collaboration with Cardi B for the viral hit WAP, which was seen by many as a betrayal given Nicki's ongoing feud with Cardi, is said to have sparked their fallout in 2020.
When Nicki unfollowed Megan on Instagram in 2021 and began releasing lyrics that were believed to contain subliminal digs, things got even worse.
In 2023, Nicki dropped Red Ruby Da Sleeze, which featured the controversial line, “But I don’t f**k with horses since Christopher Reeves,” a perceived shot at Megan Thee Stallion (whose name includes a reference to a horse).

In 2024, Megan responded with the song "Hiss," in which she subtly criticized her critics and included lines that fans connected to Nicki and her husband, Kenneth Petty.
Nicki fired back almost immediately with Big Foot, a diss track laced with pointed references to Megan’s personal life, past legal issues, and industry relationships, leaving no doubt that the gloves were officially off.
On X (formerly Twitter), the hashtags #TeamNicki and #TeamMegan are trending as supporters of each artist defend their favorite. Social media continues to dissect every lyric, live stream, and post for more hidden jabs or responses.
As of now, neither star has shown any sign of backing down. What began as a hot collab era may now be etched into music history as one of rap’s fiercest rivalries. And with both artists at the top of their game, the industry is watching closely for what comes next: reconciliation or round three.
