U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly urged Germany to sell one of its Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine, as Russia ramps up its aerial assaults on Ukrainian cities.
Trump, speaking privately with German officials, emphasized that Berlin has the resources and responsibility to act quickly in supporting Ukraine’s defense.

The appeal comes amid growing concerns that Ukraine’s air defense is being stretched thin, especially after the U.S. paused some of its own missile shipments due to supply issues.
Germany has already supplied three Patriot systems to Kyiv but faces challenges in sending more, including limited inventory and domestic political concerns.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for at least seven more Patriot batteries to protect vital infrastructure. With Russian strikes intensifying and U.S. support on hold, pressure is mounting on Berlin to step up and Trump’s latest intervention has now placed Germany squarely in the spotlight.
