Power outages swept through parts of Texas this morning but officials are now saying this wasn’t just a storm issue. It may have been a cyberattack years in the making.
According to sources within Homeland Security, a foreign malware program embedded inside the state’s energy grid was triggered remotely causing cascading failures across several counties.
The malware, allegedly planted as far back as 2021, remained undetected for over three years. Experts say it shows signs of Russian or Chinese origin, though no official attribution has been made yet.

Governor Abbott has ordered an emergency security briefing and warned that more “unseen attacks” could follow.
