What recession? On the final trading day of Q2, the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P 500 all closed at record highs, capping one of the strongest quarters in recent memory. The Nasdaq had its best performance since 2020, and tech stocks surged across the board.
Why? Easing trade tensions between the U.S. and Canada, renewed consumer spending, and surprise growth in industrials. Even Tesla, battered earlier this year, made a 7% comeback today.
“People thought this market was overheated but clearly, there’s more gas in the tank,” said one Wall Street analyst.
With Trump touting the gains and using them as fuel for his 2026 re-election campaign, the pressure is now on the Fed to manage inflation while investors keep celebrating.
