“The U.S. Flag Was Taken Down at This School What Replaced It Sparked National Debate”

A high school in Oregon removed its American flag from the front entrance this week. In its place?

A plain white flag with three words:

“We Want Change.”

Students say it was part of a protest against gun violence, racial inequality, and the state of education in America.

Some parents and veterans were outraged. Others stood behind the students.

“This is freedom of speech in action,” said one teacher.
