A boycott of retail giant Target has grown into a full-scale economic protest, after Pastor Jamal Harrison Bryant demanded the company redirect $250 million in Black consumer spending into Black-owned banks and HBCUs.
Within days, Target’s corporate office agreed to initiate talks but the boycott continues.
“We are not asking we are demanding equity,” Bryant told CNN. “This is economic warfare for justice.”
Many are comparing the movement to the Montgomery Bus Boycott an uprising with national implications.
