A damning new report from the American Society of Civil Engineers ranks Pennsylvania, Iowa, and West Virginia as having the highest number of structurally deficient bridges in the United States.
According to the report, over 40,000 bridges across the country need urgent repairs. Experts warn that without immediate federal action, the risk of a major collapse like the one in Minneapolis in 2007 could rise.
Infrastructure advocates are calling on Congress to reject cuts proposed in Trump’s latest budget and instead boost transportation grants.
