While tanks rolled through Washington for the Army’s 250th anniversary and Trump’s birthday, something else rolled through the streets: rage.
The “No Kings” protest movement, now in its second week, drew over 3 million demonstrators nationwide. From California to Maine, Americans gathered to say “This isn’t a monarchy this is a republic.”
Civil rights groups are now preparing lawsuits, accusing the Trump administration of using military force against civilians in violation of the Constitution.
“This isn’t celebration it’s intimidation,” said ACLU attorney Renee Maddox.
As videos of troops clashing with protesters go viral, a new question rises from the crowds:
“If America needs tanks for a birthday, what’s it really celebrating?”
