In a stunning spike, Canada’s immigration ministry reported over 70,000 new U.S. asylum applications filed in just two days, following Trump’s military parade and ongoing civil unrest.
Immigration experts say the flood of applications mostly from young Americans, journalists, and activists marks the largest short-term political migration in modern U.S. history.
“I love my country,” said one applicant from Pennsylvania. “But I can’t raise my kids under tanks and tyranny.”
Canadian officials are reportedly overwhelmed, and Prime Minister Trudeau is facing pressure to address the situation publicly. For many, this is more than politics it’s survival.
