The sun had just risen over a dusty road in southern Sudan when a man was spotted walking barefoot, a tiny bundle strapped to his back.
That man was Emmanuel. And the child was his 8 month old son.
For 3 days, he walked over 70 miles without food, without rest just to reach the nearest clinic. His child had a fever. And Emmanuel didn’t wait for help. He became the help.
When they finally arrived, nurses burst into tears. The baby survived. Emmanuel collapsed from exhaustion.
Asked why he walked so far, Emmanuel said: “There is no greater journey than the one you take to save your child.”
No car. No shoes. No money. Just a father’s love that moved mountains.
