Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn’t holding back. In a strong message during a media hearing on Friday, she took aim at Elon Musk, saying he’s already destroyed Twitter and now has his sights set on American politics.
“Elon reshaped Twitter into something no one even uses anymore,” she said. “People lost interest, advertisers left, and the platform became a mess. And now, he wants to step into politics? That should scare all of us.”
Musk bought Twitter in 2022 and turned it into X. Since then, many users have left, and the platform has struggled with hate speech, fake news, and random rule changes. Critics say Musk’s leadership has been unpredictable, and that he often uses X to stir up drama instead of build real solutions.

Now, with rumors growing that he’s planning to back political candidates or even start his own party leaders like AOC are warning the public to pay attention.
“He turned Twitter into chaos,” AOC said. “We can’t let him turn our democracy into chaos too.”
Musk hasn’t confirmed any political run, but his growing influence and millions of followers gives him serious power in shaping public opinion.
Some people love his boldness. Others worry he’s only in it for himself.
